"What an exquisite book! The textile art is gorgeous. Colors are vibrant . . . Facts are easy to read yet contain useful info. Each picture takes time to study and enjoy. Beautifully constructed! Even the cover feels like a quilt."

"This book is a treasure to hold because of the soft, cushiony, shiny cover. It's an ABC book dedicated to various countries. Each page has one sentence that's easy to understand. What sets this book apart is the quilt patterns and calligraphy on each page. The patterns represent fabrics and symbols from each country. . . . This book is also a treasure to behold. The art work is magnificent."

"At first glance, this looks like just another ABC book. However, upon closer examination, readers will notice the collage accompanying each of the large patterned letters. Even the ‘plain white' background pages are filled with white-on-white images for exploration . . . each collage shows a country or continent whose name begins with the featured alphabet letter.
"From Australia to Zimbabwe, readers are taken on a world tour. While facts about the countries are given, a Web site for more information is provided. The collages are, in fact, quilts whose colors and fabrics represent the featured place. Animals, fruits, vegetables, and other products of the place are shown on the quilts.
"The quilt bindings provide frames for the pages. Even end papers show quilted world maps. Social studies and art classes will pore over the diverse countries and methods of portrayal."
